Rakyung Kim hails from Namyangju-si, South Korea, and attended Seoul National University before making history as the first female player to hit a home run in the Korean men’s college league. A standout pitcher and hitter, she led the 2018 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup in strikeouts and became the first Korean player on Japan’s Saitama Seibu Lions Ladies in 2025.
